January Recap
January is almost over and that means it’s almost time for the post season to start!
Jensen Beach hosted the 4th annual Cradle Cancer to start 2018. The tournament has quickly grown into one of the toughest tournaments in the state when it comes to competition. The falcons finished in 2nd place as a team and came away with 1 Champion in Blake Wiswell (182) and 11 other top 6 finishes.
3rd place – Caelin Cascione (145), Jeret Harvey (285), Wyatt Kirkham (132), Jack Sopotnick (170), Jake Tuschman (138), & Hayden Zehe (160).
4th place – Kenny Hauck (113), Chad Nix (195)
5th place – Joey Tufo (126)
6th place – Nick Davenport (106), Terrence Dore (145)

The falcons punched their ticket to the inaugural state dual tournament by defeating Palm Bay in the regional semis. They then knocked off rival Olympic Heights in the state quarters to reach the state final four. The falcons put up a valid fight and eventually dropped a heartbreaker to Riverdale. The falcons finished the dual season this past weekend at the Gene Gorman Showcase duals at Charlotte high school. The falcons went 8-1 dropping a tough on to the host tarpons. The falcons final dual record for the season was an impressive 31-3. This ranks 2nd all-time in school history with least amount of losses in a season only behind the 2008-2009 team that went 24-0. This also marked the 4th time in program history for a team to reach 30 dual wins in a season.
The JV team will be in action again on February 9 & 10 at the JV State tournament in Kissimmee. The varsity will compete that same weekend in Jupiter at the John Raich Memorial tournament.
We are in the final stretch of the season and will have the team ready to peak for the following Key dates:
- 2/16 Districts – Jensen Beach high school
- 2/23 & 24 Regionals – Jensen Beach high school
- 3/2 & 3/2 FHSAA State tournament – Silver Spurs Arena (Kissimmee)
